Chiropractic care at ROC Pet Rehab
ROC Pet Rehab offers chiropractic care for pets suffering from neck and back pain or those in need of treatment for neuromuscular disorders. The term “chiropractic” means “done by hand,” and chiropractic therapy for animals focuses on the biomechanics of the spine and nervous system to treat musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
Chiropractic treatment
At ROC Pet Rehab, our team provides pet chiropractic care to restore joint motion/functionality and to aid in the neurological reprogramming of the nervous system.
Chiropractic treatment uses an “adjustment,” which is a quick hands-on, highly-controlled movement over a specific joint to manipulate the spine (most commonly the joints between the backbones). Depending on the severity of the subluxation pattern, a series of adjustments can bring about gradual restoration of biomechanical and neurologic function. Results may be immediate, and improved flexibility is often noticed soon after a series of treatments.
Symptoms of Subluxations
Chiropractic care is used in veterinary medicine to relieve subluxations. Simply explained, a chiropractic subluxation refers to the loss of normal position of the small bones (vertebrae) in the spine. Symptoms of subluxations include:
- Loss of motion in the joints between the vertebrae
- Pain when pressure is exerted on the vertebrae
- Change in tone of the muscles surrounding the vertebrae
